Formed in late 2004, 9minds has a dynamic reputation as a producer of new and celebrated Australian work.

The company's first production, French Day, was performed to sell out audiences at the Melbourne MidSumma Festival in early 2005. Since then, 9minds has performed four times at the Arts Centre with: Angels with Dirty Faces (BlackBox 2005, Fairfax Studio 2007), nominated for a Louis Esson Prize for Drama, Charlie (Fairfax Studio 2006) and Kill the Wolf (BlackBox 2008). The new play After was read at the Carlton Courthouse (2007), and the new musical Donate for Gold was performed at the Seymour Centre (2008).  9minds also brought the iconic Blackrock to the Gasworks main theatre stage in 2006, and in 2008 associate produced the award-winning play Ollie and the Minotaur at fortyfivedownstairs with Adelaide theatre company floogle.

In 2011, 9minds is proud to be producing the acclaimed new Australian play, Happily Ever After by RE Ross Trust winner Jane Miller, in its first Victorian tour after a 2010 première sell out season at La Mama.
