Directors

Iresha Herath

A passion for Australian theatre her chief motivation, Iresha is a founding director of 9minds. She and fellow lawyer, Rachel Fitzpatrick, co-authored 9minds' smash hit, Angels with Dirty Faces.

Angels with Dirty Faces

Her artistic background is predominantly straight theatre as an actress. Completing a combined Arts/Law degree at The University of Melbourne and Monash University, she pursued her love of theatre, both in her Arts studies and in performance. She has featured in a number of productions, but in recent years she has focused on her writing, taking great pleasure in watching her work develop from page to stage. Since November 2005, four of her plays (as sole author and co-author) have been produced/read in Melbourne: Angels with Dirty Faces (2005, 2007), Charlie (2006), After (2007) and Donate for Gold (2008).

Formerly a Senior Associate at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, and Ministerial Adviser to the Hon Peter Batchelor MLA, Iresha is Corporate Counsel at ConnectEast Group. She serves on three Boards, and is a director of the Law Institute of Victoria.  In April 2008 she took part in the Federal Government's 2020 Summit.

Iresha and her husband Greg welcomed the birth of their first child, Anika, in September 2007.

Daniel Goodfellow

Daniel is a founding director of 9minds.

His artistic background is predominantly musical. He trained as a singer at The University of Melbourne under Professor Lynette Casey-Brereton, and has performed in a number of musical theatre works, including Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde, Guys and Dolls and Jesus Christ Superstar. Daniel has also performed in the premiere production of the acclaimed opera Beijing Spring , a new work set against the backdrop of the Tiananmen Square massacre.
